These guys don't have a pricing PDF, but here is the information they send to all inquiries including how they set up and price:
Although you may have seen us play with the full band, please check out our website and some reviews and media by searching on Yahoo for Joan Zen. WeddingWire is also a great place to read some reviews of our band by other brides and grooms! For your event, we can include all three configurations that we do, acoustic soul or classical solo or duo, folk/blues/and/or jazz trio to quintet, and 6-piece funky-soul and reggae band if you desire.
To start, we can provide a couple of acoustic tunes for the ceremony of your choosing in classical guitar, or folk, jazz, soul, or bluesy styles as a solo, duo, or trio. Then, most people hire us for a cocktail set of instrumental jazz, blues, and soft vocal soul jazz (Norah Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Diana Krall). Then dinner is served and we usually play an iPod with our own mix of jazz, blues, and ballad standards, or the couple brings their own iPod to play with their favorite playlist during a dinner that lasts about 1-2 hours including toasts and cake cutting. The band of 5 usually dines at the same time. Then the whole band usually plays under a covered space if outside with a short break in between two long or three shorter dance sets.
A local wedding reception including a 5-piece band is $2,500 for about 3-4 hours of music plus breaks. The added cocktail hour and ceremony adds $500. For traveling outside 50 mile radius from Missoula, there would be a travel fee based on milage to cover costs for 3 vehicles. In addition, 3 double rooms would be needed to accommodate the band members provided by the purchaser. Everything is subject to adjustment based on your needs and there are lots of ways to cuts costs with band size, number of hours, etc, so let me know your budget and we can begin the process of getting to a number and format that works for you. We bring a full PA of gear and lights, so you do not need to do anything for that.
I usually also learn several songs for the bride and groom first dance/father-daughter dance of your choosing or I can do something standard for that if you like, like At Last or Let’s Stay Together. My usual only other requirements are a hard-level, covered surface of about 16 ft deep by 20 ft wide to perform on, power within 25 feet, a signed contract, and a 20% deposit to hold the date. A formal stage is not necessary, but a covered patio, or tent dance floor would work.
Though my husband and I are in our 40’s, we have been professional musicians since we were very young and have thousands of events under our belts, bringing with us years of experience and seasoning. Throughout your planning process, you can rely on us to answer questions, help with problem solving, and to interface seamlessly with your wedding planning team, be they your mothers, sisters, friends, vendors, or wedding coordinators.
